Overview

Esporte Clube Vitoria, more commonly called Vitoria, is a legendary Brazilian football club founded in 1899 in Salvador, capital of Bahia state. With over 125 years of history, the Rubro-Negro Baiano (Bahia Red and Black) is the oldest club in Brazil's Northeast and one of the country's most traditional. The club alternates between Serie A and Serie B.

Vitoria plays home matches at the legendary Estadio Manoel Barradas, affectionately nicknamed Barradao, a 35,000-seat venue that vibrates in red and black colors. The club possesses an impressive regional trophy cabinet with 29 Bahia state championships. The Ba-Vi, derby opposing Vitoria to Bahia, is considered one of Brazil's most passionate, literally dividing Salvador city into two camps.

The Leao da Barra (Barra Lion) distinguishes itself through youth talent development and has revealed numerous players who have shone in Brazilian and European football. Despite never winning the national championship, Vitoria remains a symbol of resistance and passion, with an extremely loyal supporter base that fills Barradao even in difficult moments, creating a unique atmosphere in South American football.
