FC Porto (FCP)
Overview
FC Porto is one of Portuguese football's three giants and one of Europe's most decorated clubs. Founded in 1893, the club competes in Primeira Liga and plays home matches at the majestic Estádio do Dragão (Dragon Stadium), an ultramodern 50,000-capacity venue inaugurated in 2003 for Euro 2004. The Dragons represent the pride of Porto city and northern Portugal.
Porto boasts an exceptional trophy cabinet with 30 Portuguese championships, 20 Portuguese Cups, and notably 2 Champions League titles (1987 and 2004). The 2004 triumph under José Mourinho remains legendary, with an extraordinary team including Deco, Ricardo Carvalho, and Maniche that dominated Europe. The club has also won 2 UEFA/Europa League titles (2003, 2011), making Porto one of the most successful clubs in European competitions.
Legends like Deco, Radamel Falcao, Hulk, James Rodríguez, and more recently Iker Casillas and Pepe have shone in blue and white. Porto maintains an intense historic rivalry with Benfica in O Clássico, Portugal's most anticipated match. The club distinguishes itself through intelligent recruitment of South American talents and excellent youth development. The Super Dragões supporter group creates one of Europe's most intimidating atmospheres at the Dragão, making the stadium a true fortress.
