Feyenoord Rotterdam (FEY)
Overview
Feyenoord Rotterdam is one of the Dutch Big Three and one of Europe's most prestigious clubs. Founded in 1908, the club competes in the Eredivisie and plays at the legendary Stadion Feijenoord, better known as De Kuip (The Tub), a legendary 51,177-capacity venue inaugurated in 1937. Feyenoord represents Rotterdam's pride, a port and working-class city in the Netherlands.
Feyenoord boasts an impressive record with 16 Dutch championships, 13 national cups, and most notably 1 European Cup won in 1970, becoming the first Dutch club to lift this trophy. The club also won 2 UEFA Cups (1974, 2002) and 1 Intercontinental Cup in 1970. The legendary 1970 team with Ernst Happel as coach remains etched in European football history.
Legends like Johan Cruyff (who finished his career at Feyenoord), Ruud Gullit, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Pierre van Hooijdonk, and more recently Robin van Persie have worn red and white. Feyenoord maintains an intense historic rivalry with Ajax Amsterdam in De Klassieker, the Netherlands' most anticipated match. Supporters of the Legioen (The Legion) create one of Europe's most impressive atmospheres at De Kuip, making the stadium a true fortress where atmosphere is electric.
