Overview
Derby County, nicknamed the Rams, is an emblematic club of English football founded in 1884. Based in Derby in the East Midlands, the club currently compete in the Championship, English football's second tier. The Rams experienced their glory days in the 1970s under Brian Clough's direction, winning two English championship titles in 1972 and 1975.
The club has played their home matches at Pride Park Stadium since 1997, a modern 33,000-capacity venue that replaced the historic Baseball Ground. Derby County maintains an intense historic rivalry with Nottingham Forest, known as the East Midlands Derby, one of English football's oldest derbies.
Despite recent financial difficulties leading to administration in 2021, Derby County has bounced back and stabilized.
