Overview
Celtic Football Club, more commonly called Celtic or The Bhoys, is one of Scottish and European football's most legendary clubs. Founded on November 6, 1887 in Glasgow by the Irish Catholic community, the club embodies a rich history of identity and tradition.
Playing at mythical Celtic Park, nicknamed Paradise, a 60,000-seat venue with electric atmosphere, the Hoops (hoops, referring to jersey stripes) wear green and white colors. The stadium is one of Great Britain's most impressive.
Celtic won over 50 Scottish championships and remains the only British club to have won the Champions League (then European Cup) in 1967 with the legendary Lisbon Lions. This team composed entirely of players born within 30 miles of Glasgow remains a football legend.
The Old Firm, derby against Rangers, is one of world football's most passionate and historic. With a global supporter base, Celtic remains a pillar of Scottish and European football.
