An explanation for why Alexandre Lacazette got angry with Emile Smith Rowe and Granit Xhaka during Arsenal’s last match has been provided.
The Gunners would face off with Aston Villa in Saturday’s only Premier League kick-off.
Arsenal headed into the game sat 4th in the Premier League, looking to extend their lead over the top-four chasing sides.
The north Londoners were just about able to do so, earning a 1-0 win over Steven Gerrard’s side thanks to a 30th-minute strike from Bukayo Saka, which also happened to be Arsenal’s 2000th Premier League goal.
Despite picking up the win on the day, Lacazette still got angry with two of his teammates.
As per football.london, Lacazette had a chance to let the ball roll across his body and shoot, and this seemed the most obvious thing to do.
However, the Frenchman opted to hold the ball with his back to Emi Martinez before misplacing a layoff and yelling furiously at both Emile Smith Rowe and Granit Xhaka for not being on the edge of the box to receive the ball.
A minor issue on the day, but something Lacazette will be hoping does not happen again in Arsenal’s next match.
Arsenal’s next outing now comes after the international break when they face Crystal Palace on the 4th of April at 8 pm UK time.
