Arsenal welcome Liverpool to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday night as Premier League football returns.
The Gunners haven’t played since March 21 where they played out a 3-3 thriller with West Ham United.
Mikel Arteta ‘s side will be keen for revenge on the Reds, who beat them 3-1 at Anfield in the reverse fixture back in September 2020.
So far in 2021, Jurgen Klopp’s men have really suffered and have now dropped down to seventh-place, despite a recent upturn in form.
Arsenal can move within one point of the reigning champions if they can pick up all three points on Saturday evening.
Willian has not featured for the Gunners since the 2-1 win over Tottenham in mid-March.
The Brazilian winger had been struggling with a calf problem and was considered an early doubt for the Liverpool clash this weekend.
However, according to Premier Injuries, the former Chelsea man is likely to return for the game at the Emirates, and he was also seen taking part in training drills this week at London Colney.
Saka returned to the Arsenal side for the 3-3 draw with West Ham on March 21 after suffering a hamstring injury.
But the youngster then withdrew from the England squad to try and recover in time for the clash this weekend.
It is still unclear whether the Gunners star will return on Saturday but it would be a much-needed boost for Arteta against the Reds.
Odegaard – who has been in fine form recently – was taken off in Norway’s 3-0 victory over Gibraltar with fears he had picked up an injury.
However, the Real Madrid loanee then played the full 90 minutes in a 3-0 defeat to Turkey a few days later.
Without any fresh problems, the Norwegian is set to feature for the Gunners on Saturday.
Emile Smith Rowe
Smith Rowe did not feature for England Under-21s in their Euro 2020 clash with Croatia on Wednesday.
The extent of the Arsenal midfielder’s concerns are still unknown but he could be a doubt for the Liverpool game.
The Three Lions U21s boss Aidy Boothroyd said on Tuesday: “Callum (Hudson-Odoi) is definitely out and he has gone back to his club, Emile Smith Rowe is also very doubtful.”
Smith Rowe has been in fine form for the Gunners this season and could be a big miss if he is sidelined.
