Rio Ferdinand has told Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to sign ‘talented’ Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak in the January transfer window.
Isak has scored seven goals in 22 appearances for Sociedad so far this season, after impressing for Sweden in last summer’s European Championships.
Arsenal are reportedly in the market for a striker this month, with the exiled Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng potentially on his way out of the club, while Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette have both entered the final six months of their current contracts at the Emirates Stadium.
Reports in Spain have linked Isak with a move to north London this month, with Sociedad open to selling him at the right price.
And former Manchester united defender Ferdinand believes the Sweden international would be a great signing for the Gunners.
‘He will be a good signing. Another young talented player. He has done really well in the Euros for Sweden, I thought. He is a talented player, man,’ he told Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.
The Gunners have already reportedly offered £46m plus midfielder Lucas Torreira for Fiorentina starlet Dusan Vlahovic, according to Gazetta dello Sport.
Vlahovic, 21, has already attracted a whole host of interest from across Europe after he scored 18 goals in his opening 22 appearances this term.
Speaking about his future on Monday, the Serbia international refused to be drawn on whether he would leave the Viola either in January or the summer.
‘I have stated this several times so far. A beautiful football story is being made here in Florence,’ he told Politika.
‘We have a good team, great football players, great support from the fans. It all deserves respect.
‘Only God knows what will happen in the next period. My wish is to bring Fiorentina to Europe, because we have not been in Europe for a long time.
‘I don’t know what can happen overnight. We’ll see.’
