According to reports, Manchester United is about to start a meeting to decide Alejandro Garnacho’s immediate future. In Sunday’s 1-1 draw between the Red Devils and Rayo Vallecano, the Argentina winger was the most valuable player on the field. And after the match at Old Trafford, the 18-year-new old’s boss Erik ten Hag spoke poetic about him.
Following their loss to Atletico Madrid in Norway the previous day, Manchester United were forced to settle for a draw against Rayo Vallecano.
However, Garnacho had no such issues in the attack like Cristiano Ronaldo had.
The 18-year-old produced an electrifying performance that demonstrated why he is so highly regarded at Old Trafford. He was a constant threat throughout the entire game.
Furthermore, according to Fabrizio Romano’s article for CaughtOffside, once Ronaldo’s predicament is resolved, United will meet with Garnacho’s agent.
It appears that the purpose of the conference will be to choose what is best for the youngster.
In particular, if they are unable to find a new forward, Garnacho might decide to stay at United. Players of interest include Benjamin and Antony Sesko, who play for Red Bull Salzburg and Ajax, respectively.
In order to deter possible suitors, United also intends to extend a new contract to its gifted adolescent.
And given Garnacho’s immense potential and talent, they are optimistic that he will decide to stay for the long run.
As the Red Devils drew on Sunday, Ronaldo, a Portugal international, maintained an unassuming demeanor.
The 37-year-old was making his first preseason appearance after missing the club’s trip of Australia and Thailand.
However, Ronaldo only played for 45 minutes before Ten Hag hooked him, and Amad took over in his stead.
Another player who might go out on loan is the Ivory Coast international, particularly after having a challenging season at Rangers last year.
But Amad stood out against Vallecano, scoring a goal that had Old Trafford supporters jumping up and down in celebration.
When questioned about his assessment of the club’s preseason thus far, Ten Hag praised Garnacho in contrast.
Ten Hag told MUTV that he was “overall definitely [glad with the pre-season], I think we have a solid pre-season and we make good progress.” Although there is still much room for development and we must improve, “We are ready for the season.”
