Man Utd labelled the new Arsenal with Ralf Rangnick slammed for disgraceful decisions

Former striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has dubbed Manchester United “the new Arsenal.” Ralf Rangnick’s tactical decisions, according to ex-Aston Villa captain Agbonlahor, are a “disgrace.”

This season, United will be without a trophy for the fifth time in a row. They’re fighting for a place in the top four, and Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Leicester put a further dent in their chances.

Between 2005 and 2014, Arsenal went nine years without winning a trophy, and they haven’t won the Premier League since 2004. Mikel Arteta has led the Gunners to back-to-back eighth-place finishes in the Premier League since the departure of Arsene Wenger.

However, with two games remaining, Arteta’s side is three points ahead of United. And, according to Agbonlahor, the two titans have swapped places in the top flight.

On talkSPORT, he said: “Where is Manchester United’s battle to qualify for the Champions League? Manchester United’s failure to finish fourth is a disaster for the football club.

“On a Thursday afternoon, they could be playing in the Mickey Mouse Cup [Europa Conference League]. Manchester United has taken on the role of Arsenal.

“They’ve been dubbed the “new Arsenal.” Arsenal has pushed Manchester United down the table, and things are looking up for the Gunners.”

Rangnick, the interim manager, started the match against Leicester without a known forward. Agbonlahor has also chastised the German for his tactical choices.

He continued, ” “Just take a look at how the great have fallen. You’ve never seen anything like it from Manchester United.

“It was painful to watch Manchester United play a false nine in the first half because there was no intensity and no one trying to get the ball back. I’m not sure if they’ve been watching Man City this season and believe they can do it, but the first half was excruciating.

“Marcus Rashford is not starting because [Edinson] Cavani and [Cristiano] Ronaldo are injured. Rangnick’s tactical decisions were a disgrace, and that group of players are shortchanging Manchester United fans.”

Rangnick stated over the weekend that his team will not give up on fourth until their fate is decided. He stated, ” “It’s possible as long as it’s mathematically possible.

But, regardless of how likely it is, it is our job and responsibility to do everything we can to end the season on a high note, for ourselves, our supporters, and for everyone. That means preparing for an away game against Everton, which they will try to win.”
