A brace from Chelsea star Tino Anjorin led the Blues charge in the Premier League 2 fixture, extending their lead at the top of the table.
United found themselves immediately on the back foot as Anjorin set up attacker Marcel Lewis for his first of the afternoon after just two minutes.
Less than 60 seconds later, 16-year-old striker Jude Soonsup-Bell doubled Chelsea’s lead and the Red Devils found themselves 2-0 down after just three minutes.
Despite £10million summer signing Facundo Pellistri being named in the starting line-up, the Uruguayan failed to make an impact as Anjorin scored either side of half-time to inflict more misery on the visitors.
Pellistri was subbed off after 65 minutes for midfielder Joe Hugill, who scored United’s only goal of the game late on but his efforts did little to salvage the scoreline after Lewis grabbed his second and Charlie Brown got in on the act.
Anjorin, who played 79 minutes in the senior team’s Champions League match with Kransnador, stole the show with two assists alongside his brace.
