Chelsea are now prepared to pay £60million to land Everton starlet Anthony Gordon.

The Blues have already seen offers of £40m and £45m rejected in recent with Everton desperate to hold onto the 21-year-old winger, insisting he is not for sale.

Gordon is already a key figure under Frank Lampard at Goodison Park but Chelsea now plan to return with a new offer. Sky Sports report talks between the two clubs have continued with Thomas Tuchel’s side ready to up their bid.

The £60m offer is thought to be the total value of the deal, including add-ons.

Everton have offered Gordon a new deal in a bid to keep him at Goodison Park but the player is reportedly very open to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard is keen to strengthen his squad before the transfer window closes on 1 September and selling Gordon would provide a huge financial boost.

The Toffees boss conceded last week he was unable to give any concrete assurances over the youngster’s future.

‘You can’t ask me to assure anything – that would be naïve of me to assure anything,’ Lampard said.

‘Selling players, just as it is with bringing players in, it has to be a joined-up say so. When you’re talking about the level of player Anthony is and the value of player, we know what those kind of players go for.

‘It’s a serious situation on a football and a club business level, simple as that. If you can join those two up and make the right decision… The football one is the most important to me, because that is what I’m judged on.

‘But we know his value. Will he be here at the end of the window? Who knows. I don’t want to get into hypotheticals.’

Gordon’s current Everton deal expires in 2025.

Tottenham showed interest in signing the England Under-21 international earlier this summer, enquiring into his availability during their talks to bring Richarlison to north London. Newcastle have also shown interest.
