The Gunners are looking to go for two Englishmen in the summer transfer window and have learned more about what sort of price they’ll have to pay to bring the pair to the Emirates
With fixtures released this week, the Premier League season is on the horizon and Arsenal are looking to make amends next time out.
Mikel Arteta’s men slumped to eighth in 2020-21 and will not take part in European football for the first time in 26 years.
It’s therefore set to be a busy summer at the Emirates, with incomings and outgoings aplenty expected as the Spanish boss sets out to return the club to continental competition.
Gunners supporters have seen their club linked with countless players already this summer – and there’s still more than two months to go until Deadline Day.
Here, Football Audit rounds up the latest transfer news at the Emirates.
£45m the White amount?
footballaudit reported yesterday that the Gunners are preparing a second offer for the Brighton & Hove Albion defender, who is currently on duty for England at Euro 2020.
An initial £40m approach from the Emirates boardroom was knocked back but technical director Edu is hoping a fresh offer of £45m would tempt the Seagulls into selling the 23-year-old.
Excelling as part of a three-man back line for Graham Potter’s side this season, White’s stock has risen significantly in recent weeks than to his surprise international call-up.
The former Leeds United loanee is versatile, though, potentially filling in at right-back or midfield.
Maddison valuation revealed
Arsenal are reportedly setting their sights on Leicester’s James Maddison as they seek a top-class No.10 to add to their squad.
The return of Martin Odegaard to Real Madrid has led the Gunners to seek out other options, but Maddison won’t come cheap.
Leicester are known for driving a hard bargain, and they value the 24-year-old midfielder at more than £60million, according to reports from Football London.
Chelsea are also thought to be keen on his signature, but only if they can offload Hakim Ziyech this summer.

See ya, Sead
Sead Kolasinac is keen on securing a move to Italy this summer after his recent loan spell in the Bundesliga.
The Serbian defender spent half of last season plying his trade at Schalke who were relegated from the German top division.
Kolasinac has no future under Mikel Arteta but has attracted interest from Serie A.
As reports CalcioMercato, both Napoli and Lazio are keen on the full-back, whose contract expires at the end of the month.
