Arsenal are looking to make up to five major signings this summer with Mikel Arteta eyeing major changes to his side for the 2021-22 season.
The Gunners are already deep in talks to sign Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
After having an initial offer turned down, Arsenal have returned to Brighton with an improved offer thought to be £45m plus £5m in add-ons for the centre-half with a deal thought to be close.
The club are also closing to agreeing a deal with Anderlecht for Lokonga but The Athletic report Arsenal are also eager to sign a left back, right back, a no10 and a goalkeeper before the transfer window closes.
The club have identified Aaron Ramsdale as a possible solution in goal having already made initial contact with Sheffield United over a deal. The 23-year-old, who joined the Blades from Bournemouth last year, is currently with the England squad at Euro 2020.
Arsenal had hoped to sign Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal but are now considering alternative options for the no10 role with the Norwegian set to remain at Real Madrid.
The club are interested in Leicester City star James Maddison but it is thought the playmaker’s price tag means a deal will be unlikely this summer, given there are so many areas Arsenal are looking to strengthen in the coming weeks and months.
With Hector Bellerin wanted by both Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, a new right-back could be sought. Arsenal are interested in RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams while Sassuolo’s Mert Muldur has been identified as an alternative option.
Cover at left-back for Kieran Tierney is also required with the club monitoring 19-year-old Real Madrid starlet Miguel Gutierrez.
In addition to the arrival of Lokonga in midfield, Arsenal are also considering bringing in a more experienced option in midfield with the club still weighing up a move for Wolves star Ruben Neves.
Major exits are also expected in north London with Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira all put up for sale.
Suitable offers for Joe Willock will also be considered with the club planning to sit down for talks with the player once he returns from his holidays.
