If Arsenal’s Player of the Year award was decided tomorrow, there’s no doubt who would win it.
Kieran Tierney has been a revelation for the Gunners this season, scoring once and setting up three goals.
But this doesn’t really tell the full story of how influential the Scottish left-back has been Arsenal.
As of January 7, no other player in Mikel Arteta’s squad had created more goalscoring chances for his team-mates than Tierney which, considering he’s a defender, is quite good going.

Arsenal have released bad news for Gunners fans, 15 hours before Aston Villa clash
Indeed, he is such a massive player for Arsenal, but one they’ll have to do without tomorrow.
The North Londoners take on Aston Villa in the West Midlands in around 15 hours, but the club have revealed on their official website that the former Celtic star won’t be available.
Tierney has some ‘lower leg discomfort’ and has been ruled out of facing the Villans.
With that in mind, and with Ainsley Maitland-Niles loaned to West Brom, the best – and only – candidate to replace Tierney is Cedric Soares, but the former Southampton man is nowhere near as potent going forward as the 23-year-old, so this is a difficult one for Arteta
