Arsenal have reportedly received a boost in their long-running pursuit of Lucas Vazquez, who remains unsatisfied at Real Madrid despite signing a new contract in June.
Lucas, 30, has made 16 appearances for the Galacticos in the 2021-22 season, but has only started nine times due to the return to fitness of nominal right-back Dani Carvajal, who has limited Lucas’ action at right-back.
According to a new report from Spanish outlet El Nacional, the star was promised regular playing time when he signed his new contract, and the versatile player is dissatisfied with the amount of minutes he is currently getting at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Arsenal is interested in bringing him to the Emirates Stadium, according to the report, and could make an offer once the winter transfer window opens.
Lucas was an unused substitute in his team’s 2-0 win over Serie A champions Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. He is also said to be interested in Napoli, Sevilla, Roma, and Valencia.
Since making his debut six years ago, the forward has 27 goals and 54 assists in 256 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
