Arsenal fans notice what James Maddison did at Leicester training in order to seal £60m transfer
The midfielder has been tipped to seal a summer move to Arsenal as Mikel Arteta aims to use the transfer window to sign a player to fill a creative void in his squad
Some Arsenal fans are keeping a very close eye on what James Maddison is getting up to.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a summer move to the Emirates Stadium as manager Mikel Arteta looks to sign a creative midfielder to solve one of his biggest problems from last season.
Although a deal for Maddison might prove to be a difficult one to complete with six weeks until transfer deadline day.
As previously reported by footballaudit.com, Arteta is an admirer of the attacking midfielder but Leicester City would likely demand a fee of around £60million for any transfer to be completed.
Although, there has been talk of Gunners technical director Edu getting creative.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal believe they have found a method for how they can convince Leicester into doing a deal, even though it may still not be simple and straightforward.
The report states that the Gunners are prepared to sweeten a £50m deal for Maddison by offering Leicester one of their many fringe players, such as the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Reiss Nelson, in exchange.
It remains to be seen if such a plan will prove successful, but it’s clear that a number of Arsenal fans are keen for Maddison to seal a move before August 31.
So much so that some have a theory that the midfielder has teased doing exactly that.
As seen in the Instagram post above, Maddison turned up for a Leicester training session wearing a white t-shirt and red bottoms.
Of course, those are also Arsenal colours and this didn’t go unnoticed.
