There was a shock result in the quarter final of the Champions League as Man City again bowed out before the semi-final stage of the competition.
City were firm favourites to make it through against Ligue 1 side Lyon, but found themselves one goal down going into the half-time break thanks to a goal from Maxwel Cornet.
The Premier League got back into the game in the second half through Kevin De Bruyne, but a Moussa Dembele double within five minutes of each other saw the French side prevail.
Although Dembele was the hero for Lyon, it was another player who caught the eye of Arsenal fans.
Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has been linked with a summer move to the Emirates Stadium, with latest reports claiming that the Gunners have seen a bid of cash plus Matteo Guendouzi rejected for the midfielder by Lyon.
Aouar played a big part in two of the three goals scored by Lyon and certainly got a big reaction from Gunners’ fans watching his performance.
Before the game against Man City, the 22-year-old has played 39 games in all competitions this season, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists.
It is reported that Lyon are asking for a price in the region of £54 million for the midfielder.
