According to rumors, Arsenal has begun talks to sign Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen.

This summer, the Arsenal is looking for two new forwards after failing to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both out of contract this summer.

The Gunners have already held negotiations with Gabriel Jesus’ agent and have made Manchester City forward one of their summer objectives.

According to Goal, Arsenal has also moved to sign Osimhen from Napoli.

Arsenal’s technical director Edu has met with the striker’s agent in London, but the Gunners are aware that reaching an agreement with Napoli could be tricky.

The Serie A club signed the 23-year-old for €81.3 million (£69.5 million) in 2020, but it’s claimed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would demand a much larger amount.

Osimhen has scored 18 goals in 32 appearances for Napoli this season. Since going to Italy, the Nigerian international has scored 24 goals in 51 Serie A games.

According to Goal, Arsenal has also touched Richarlison’s representatives to discuss a possible summer transfer.

With six goals in his final ten games, the Brazilian was instrumental in Everton avoiding relegation from the Premier League this season.

Last week, De Laurentiis admitted that if a player, such as Osimhen or Kalidou Koulibaly, wants to go, Napoli will not stand in their way.

‘He is a Napoli icon, and if he wants to stop being a symbol, he must decide for himself.’ We want Koulibaly to stay, but you can’t make people stay,’ De Laurentiis said.

‘Each person has their dignity and needs. We appreciate everyone; did you know that I’ve never pushed anyone to stay, even if their contract had a few years left?
